“Time is money” even if you are thinking to take a course to improve your English

Therefore I chose Royal Canadian Institute of International Studies because their programs are interesting, useful and profitable. Those programs help me to improve my skills and knowledge in order to understand the English language in a current market business environment, also in a Canadian experience atmosphere.

Even that course fit with me, because almost all the time I was busy to learning and reducing my foreign accent too.

And day to day I use the vocabulary and telephone skills to make my own business also in my field as engineer in telecommunications.

Therefore it was a good kind of investment for me…

Business Communication Internship Diploma

- Not study English but USE English as a communication tool -

I’ve done so many discussions with my classmates through this program. When you read the first sentence, you might think that this school is same as another business English school. But it isn’t. One of big differences between RCIIS and ordinary business English school is that you will use English just as a communication tool. Mainly you will learn business topics such as marketing, management and finance which is very important to understand global business environment.

During the class, Students are required to speak out their own idea. I worked really hard how to explain my idea more understandably and simply. At this point, I should mention about presentations. To prepare and practice for big presentations are one of the most effective part of this program. To take a preliminary step to do these presentations, I became more comfortable to communicate in English.
On a final note I think that keep using English as a tool to study challenging program is the most efficient and effective way to improve English.

Internship with Steam Whistle

My name is Ivette Torres, I'm from Mexico, city. When I heard about RCIIS, I thought 'this is a good opportunity to practice my English' ... but when I was in Canada for the first time, I saw myself in the middle of a new environment, different cultures, different peoples and different styles of life. So at first I was afraid to speak, I don't know why, I was so shy and quiet even at the school.
Then when I started to do my internship in Steam Whistle

, I never imagine that I would find good friends who care about me. In that place I did a little bit of everything. In every area I had some opportunities to practice my English and I wasn't afraid to speak anymore or to make a mistake or something like that. I really enjoyed the time in that place, I'm so happy and definitely this is the BEST experience of my life, I'm not going to forget this, never!! Thank you, RCIIS.

Internship with Bank of Montreal

I will have an internship at Bank of Montreal for an internship opportunity. I had an interview. The interview included some questions about an international student such as what I learned in RCIIS, how and what I studied here in Canada, and what can I get for the future job from the internship in Canada. Through the business communication course in RCIIS, I already learned about how to express my idea in the business scene and I had some practices for interview, so it helped me a lot. In addition to that, before the interview, I had a lot of times to talk to the director about the internship, and I got some important advice from her. I realized that RCIIS supported me as much as they could. I really appreciate it.

I took a Business Communication course during eight weeks in the Royal Canadian Institute of International Studies, and now I’m doing my internship in a Canadian Tire store for an eight weeks term. Co-workers have been friendly and patient with me, I’m learning a lot from them too.
This experience of working in a Canadian company is great. Now I feel more confident myself, and I’m sure this is going to be a valuable asset for taking a more challenging job in the future.
Thanks RCIIS for giving me this opportunity.

Internship in Toronto Board of Trade

I started my internship in January 2007 at The Toronto Board of Trade and am learning Payroll and Benefit at Human Resources department.
People are very kind and helpful, especially my bosses teach me so many things and give me challenging work. I sometimes actually use payroll system, which is used in many companies these days all over Canada, for both salaried and hourly employees. In addition, I help in Human Resources Department. I have been learning a lot in my internship experience.
When I just moved to Canada, I didn’t even think I would be able to get a job in this country because I wasn’t confident about my English. However, seeing those people working in the same positions and the same conditions as Canadian people encourages me a lot to the positive thinking about my future. Now I can think like, “As long as I try and make an effort, I can get a job here!”
It was a good decision to join your school. I really appreciate all your help!

I can’t believe this!! I’m enjoying working with my co-workers now.
Why don’t you study at RCIIS and get some Canadian working experience!!
e to Toronto. I appreciate RCIIS and the law office for providing me with these great chances.

Iinternship with a Law Firm specialized in Transportation law and organizer of Toronto Transportation Conference.

During the RCIIS program, I learned both general knowledge of business and practical skills in business situations through presentations, case studies, research and oral practice.

Based on my work experience in my own country, I have worked in a transportation law office, which qualified me for a secretarial position in a law firm as an internship placement. My boss and his secretaries were very kind and always helped me through working together. I did various kinds of work every day in the office. In every situation, I had some opportunity to use formal English in both speaking and writing.

The most exciting thing about my internship was that I could join the “20th Annual Transportation Conference”, which gave me not only the opportunity to work with a lot of people on the project but also the fruitful experience of participating in a North American business event.

I have truly enjoyed working with my boss and I now realize how challenging it was for me to use English in a real business situation throughout my internship as well. I believe that this experience will help me have confidence in myself and keep me moving forward towards my goals.

This was the most valuable experience I have had since I came to Toronto. I appreciate RCIIS and the law office for providing me with these great chances.

Internship with Days Hotel & Conference

Choosing RCIIS was one of the best decisions I made in Canada. I had two things I wanted to do. One was to get in the English working environment. The other one was to solve the problem that when I talked to my friends or teachers they understood me but when I talked to "people" they didn't understand me!! I'd had many trial lessons to find the right one. I didn't want to waste my limited time and money. Then I found RCIIS.

The STAR Programme really helped me to speak more clearly with right intonations. The Business communication Programme helped me to be ready to get in the working environment with strong confidence. Now I have my internship going on. Because I wanted to start to establish my career in the hotel industry, I chose a hotel to work for. My boss gives me a part of his job, which is very practical tasks, not just making copies. I wouldn't have had this priceless experience if I didn't get this internship.

Thank you RCIIS! I am pretty sure this will help me to get a better job in Japan or in any countries!!

Internship with Opensoft Consulting Company

Are you a student looking for an effective way to learn English? Or having hard time seeking a working experience in a real Canadian environment for your working holiday?
If either of these describes you, the business internship communication program of RCIIS is for you!! I am one of those who've got a fabulous experience through this program. Soon after coming to Canada I started to study in RCIIS. The classes included vocabulary building, case studies, presentations and more. At the second month I applied for internship position to Hudson's Bay Company. I successfully got the position, and worked there for two months after finishing school. I am pretty sure that I got a precious working experience in a Canadian company and that I could improve my English skill by putting myself in a real Canadian environment.

This is not the ending of my story. Getting job offer from them, I'm still keeping on working there as an employee! Without exaggerating, RCIIS has made my stay in Canada. I strongly recommend it to everyone who is looking for a better studying or working experience in Canada.

Mr.Sho Aino
Japan
He joined both BC&STAR programs

Since I'd like to use English as a tool for my future career, I was looking for a school which focus on Business English and communication skills. I thought that RCIIS is exactly the one I am looking for.

I really felt that the teachers of RCIIS are extremely high experienced.
not only teachres, but also the programs are specialized. when I was in an ESL shool, I sometime felt that the classes aren't really designed and are bored. once I started to study at RCIIS, I've never felt that way. I could feel that I learn many things efficiently and effectively. During the program, I had done 3 big presentations. I was so nervous to do it, but it was good practice to speak English in front of people.

After finished the business program, I also took the STAR Program. the reason why I took this program is that I really wanted to reduct my strong Japanese accents when I speak English. Mr. Josef, the teacher of STAR program, taught us how to speak English more clearly.

I recommend this school to someone who would like to study seriously and practically. you can build up your confidence and communication skills through RCIIS's programs.

I was in RCIIS only for 8 weeks, but I learned so many things at this school. Because of the small size class, I had lots of chances to speak out my opinion in the class. that helped me to improve my communication skills.

The business program was big challenge for me. this program include roll play, discussion, team project and presentation....I learned so many thing by doing these things.

What I learned at RCIIS is really usuful in not only business related, but also everyday life. If you have any question or problem...ask school staffs. there are very kind and friendly, you can trust them! I'll apply what I have learned at RCIIS to the future. Thank you so much.

Mr. Satokazu Tanaka

When I was in this S.T.A.R Program, I had been ih Toronto about 6 months. At that time, I was disappointed at my impassable English pronunciation. What I really wanted was smooth conversation with native English speakers. so this hope put me into the S.T.A.R program.

During the class, students are encouraged to make an intonation in order to change our sounds clear for native English speakers. For me, since I've been speaking Japanese for many years, most of English vowel and consonant are tough to sound correctly. However, through this program, I've come up with idea of differences of our tongue movement.

This course should give us the oppotunity to know how different each language sound is. To know its difference is one of the most essential things for improvement of pronunciation.

I am really sure that the S.T.A.R program has great features for us.

Ms. Lati
Brazil

The content of the program is very complete. We discuss important business issues in the class and learn how the business world works. It was a valuable investment.

Our teaches have big knowledge in business, and the classes are very well conducted. The teachers are accessible, friendly and helpful.

It is a very good school; I’d recommend this course to anyone interested in further knowledge of business.

In my opinion, it is perfect!
